Police say Roubideaux was driving the car when year-old LaKendrick Thornton was shot in the Lookinv near 10th Street and Mable Avenue. A warrant for her arrest was issued Thursday.
An affidavit filed in the case stated that Roubideaux, Thornton, Long and another woman were on their way to purchase drugs when the shooting occurred.
Roubideaux told police she was driving with Long in the front seat and Thornton Loking the other woman in the backseat when Long and Thornton began arguing. His body was later dumped in a ditch near Renner, police said. Unsuccessful, she fell from the moving car as Long allegedly fired another shot, missing her.
The woman ran and was searching for help when two police officers approached her, the affidavit said. She asked them why Lookin were not going to the shooting and gestured to the area of 10th Street and Mable Avenue. The officers surveyed the scene but did not find anything except the woman's flip-flop, according to the affidavit.
The woman was arrested for lying to police about her identity and brought to jail, where she told fellow inmates and jail employees about witnessing a shooting, according to the affidavit. Detectives interviewed her and she allegedly told them that Long and Roubideaux had been staying at the Nites Inn.
Detectives also interviewed a man who told them Roubideaux was driving his roommate's Renneg, an older tan Toyota Camry, on the night of the murder. Roubideaux allegedly returned the car and the roommate noticed it had been cleaned and smelled of bleach, according to the affidavit.
Roubideaux allegedly told the roommate that her boyfriend had spilled something in the car and that's why it had been cleaned. She also told the roommate she needed a new shirt because the Rrnner she was wearing had gunshot residue on it, the affidavit states.
